Winter Weddings

Wedding dressing is always tricky, and winter weddings are probably 10 times harder than summer ones where a floaty maxi dress can usually do the trick. It's so hard to find something that's smart and sexy - yet still cool and stylish. There's also the issue, of course, that with Instagram and Facebook throwing out pictures of you commandeering the dance floor at 1am, you aren't going to want to wear this dress more than twice or three times, so the hefty price-tags that most evening dresses carry don't really feel justifiable. 

Enter Grace MMXIII which, contrary to the overly elaborate series of Roman numerals adorning it's name, boasts a collection of impeccably simple and elegant evening wear.

In a colour palette of black (and occasionally white or red) these are dresses that make a subtle statement, meaning they can be worn over and over again.

Holiday Investments

I constantly try to inject colour into my wardrobe but it seems that I just can't get away from the staples of black, white and denim. 

This summer I stocked up on off-the-shoulder tops from Asos who seemed to have the best selection, then spent lazy days throwing them on with denim and sneakers. Colour will just have to come in the form of my stack of Dana Levy friendship bracelets...

Mango Madness

Head over heels for Mango this season. 

It could be because the monochrome palette appeals my aversion to colour, or the simplicity of the styling, or the heavy duty feel of the clothes, whatever it is, Mango is top of my wish list right now.

Midi Style

These last days of sunshine on holiday meant a final foray into bare legs and Birkenstocks until next spring. What better to pair with these famously ugly sandals than the prettiest of skirts I've found on the high street - this guipure lace skirt from River Island.

Holiday Wardrobe

Although I'm back in the cold of London I thought I'd put up a couple more posts of what I wore on holiday last week when my days were filled with sunshine and my biggest stresses were choosing toppings on frozen yoghurt.

Grace Atelier De Luxe is a bag brand I was introduced to recently stocking the most beautiful bohemian summer bags, each hand crafted from the softest leathers. There is nothing like a perfect slouchy bucket bag to fill up with summer essentials. This one comes in a fringed version too which is at the top of my wish list along with their ikat clutch bags.

The asos sandals I'm wearing are the best thing I bought all summer, I've worn them to death. They're similar to the ancient greek sandals I really wanted but cost £20 instead of £150 and are so comfortable I've just thrown them on with everything. 

All White Everything

I have a new folder on my computer, It's entitled 'next house' and it's full of pictures of things I love which I didn't do to this one and wish I had. Mainly making it totally Scandi and minimal. Renovating a Victorian terraced house I couldn't bring myself to strip out any of the character so ours is a far cry from minimalism. Oh well, will have to make do with saving pictures of all things ivory for my next move whenever that shall be.
